Responsibilities:
- Check Post Office Box for mail.
- Maintain bank accounts (signature cards).
- Deposit checks mailed to USA.
- Write checks on behalf of Symphony Association.
- Manage cash and money pouches before and after concerts.
- Submit musician payroll to outside payroll firm after each concert.
- Maintain USA books in QuickBooks Desktop:
- cash in and out,
- checks written,
- checks deposited,
- EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) deposits from QGiv and Square
- In-kind donations,
- Payroll records,
- Monthly bank statement reconciliation,
- Coordinate ticket sales with Ticket Manager.
- Process routine legal documents associated with insurance and taxes.
- Initiate annual tax return preparation with outside tax firm.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the Board.
- Participate in budget preparation for each concert season.
- Prepare and mail 1099 tax forms to artists and independent contractors.
- Prepare and mail tax deductible donation receipts to cash and in-kind donors.
Estimated Time Requirements:
- 2-4 hours/month.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be willing to attend a 90-minute board meeting 10 times a year.
- Must have a personal computer (Mac or PC) of reasonably recent vintage.
- Must have an Internet connection.
- Must have a printer/scanner.
- Must know, or be willing to learn, QuickBooks Desktop for record-keeping.
- Must be able to store and maintain a single file-box of paper records during the fiscal year.
- Must be willing to serve in a position of fiscal responsibility.
- Must be a team player.
