Winners Announced! We are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Ukiah Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition.
Congratulations to Sungdu Bae, flute, playing the first movement of Jacques Ibert’s Flute Concerto, and Serena She, violin, performing Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. These are two extremely talented young musicians, and we are proud to have them as guest soloists with the orchestra. Congratulations to our two honorable mentions for their hard work, dedication to music, and recognizable talent: Diego Borges, clarinet, and Callia Wang, piano. We believe in you and want to encourage you in your musical studies. Thank you to everyone that applied, and congratulations again to this year’s outstanding winners of the USO Youth Concerto Competition! We look forward to performing with you on May 17th and 18th! The competition was open to middle, high school, and undergraduate musicians on any instrument or voice type. We welcome and encourage entrants of diverse backgrounds, and would love to have multiple winners. Competition winners will rehearse and perform their selected piece or movement(s) with the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra before a live concert audience at the Mendocino College Center Theater on Saturday and/or Sunday, May 17-18, 2025. A cash prize is also awarded to each winner. |
